Learn the Secrets to Master the Use of Your Mac Computer
According to one study, there are about 100 million active Apple Mac users.
If you’re one of those millions of users, do you know how to get the most out of your Mac laptop?
Thankfully, we’re here to give you all the tips on how to get the most out of your Mac computer, so make sure that you keep reading!
Free Up Space
If you don’t have enough space on your hard drive, you can actually use the operating system to help clean up your drive.
All you’ll need to do is click the Apple menu at the top of the screen. Then choose the About This Mac. When that window appears, open the storage tab, and then click Manage.
If you want to remove all of the files that are in the cloud, like your movies, email attachments, or shows, you can click Optimize. This will automatically upload them into your Cloud, but if you want to have some more control, you can click on Review Files instead.
This will let you go through all the large files on your computer and see if you want to erase them or not.
Use Rosetta
If you install an app on your Mac laptop that was meant for an Intel processor, you’ll be asked if you want to set up an app called Rosetta.
This is what makes it easy to run apps and work well with Apple Silicon. This is like a transition layer that will help the app work.
However, for it to work well, you’ll need to take a few seconds to configure Rosetta. You can click the Install button and have all of your apps run perfectly.
Know How to use TrackPad
If you have a MacBook Air or a MacBook Pro, you’ll be able to use MultiTouch with your TrackPad.
If you need a tutorial on how to use the TrackPad, you can go to System Preferences, and then go to TrackPad. You can select each gesture to see what each one does and how to do it.
There are three main different categories for the TrackPad, including scroll and zoom, point and click, and even more gestures.
For example, if you pinch your thumb and use three figures, you can open the LauncPad to find an app to open.
If you have too many windows and can’t find what you’re looking for, you can just use three fingers and then spread your thumb over the touchpad.
Install Apps
One of the main benefits of using Apple products is that you can use all of the same apps on your Mac that you have on your iPhone and iPad.
If you don’t want to use these apps with just a touchscreen, you can download it on your Mac and just use it with your keyboard and mouse. However, it will depend on what the app was designed to work with. For example, watching Netflix on your computer might be easier because you’ll have a good internet connection to stream a large number of shows.
All you need to do to use these apps on your Mac laptop is to search for them in the App Store. You can go to an iPhone and iPad Apps tab to see all the apps that you can download.
Clean Up Your System Preferences
If you want to clean up your menu and dashboard, you should go to the system preferences menu. This will act as the control panel for all of your computers.
But if you don’t use a lot of the options, you can hide them to clean it up a little bit. All you have to do is open the systems preference. From there, you can go to the top of the screen and then choose View. You should then choose Customize, and you’ll see a list of the shortcuts.
From there, you can uncheck any menu or shortcut that you don’t need but also highlight the ones you do want to see.
Increase Your Sound
If you want to increase sound on Mac, you’ll need to go to the Menu Bar and then go to volume control. There will be a slider there where you can adjust the volume.
Sometimes you can also change the volume using the Control Strip.
If you can’t find the volume control in the menu bar, go to the Apple menu instead. Go to System Preferences and then click on Sound. You can then select the option to show the volume in the menu bar.
Use Finder
Many people use Finder, but they don’t know all of the hidden tips and tricks with it. First off, you can summon it by pressing Command and then Space to bring it up instead of navigating there.
Then you should define what folders are your Favorite on your Mac.
After you’ve organized your folders, you can go to the Column view. This will make it easier to search through any of the items that you need.
